Dear Diary:
I had lots of fun in School. I'm writing this Feb. 5, 1972. It was Hippie day. Most of the teachers & Mrs. Rothchue dressed as hippies too. Mrs. Rothsur sure was something!!! When Mrs. Brown came in the class we all give her the peace sign. I stayed for Drama. I’m going to be a gypsy lady in it. I came home on the bus. It left me & Jimmy off at entrance) so I walked with him for awhile. He nice. I went for a walk with Simmon & Missy. We went to the airport to get Dad just made it. I got a new blouse. BYE!!! Got a 100 on Spanish.
Note: Mrs. Rothschuh was our High School principal. Mrs. Brown was our math teacher.

Note: The movie “Sometimes a Great Notion” was a heavy drama about a family logging company being threatened by strikes and their personal dramas. The movie was in English with Spanish subtitles.

Oh my goodness, cannot imagine Ms. Rothchue as a Hippy! My memory of her was that she was intense and very serious. In fact, In tenth grade, I had a traumatic experience in her class! As a daydreamer, I was looking out the window in faraway places and did not notice she had called on me. So... she walked right up in front of me and slammed the big book (Biology, I think) right in front of my feet!! What made it bearable, was that several boys handed me their handkerchiefs to dry the hot tears running down my face😢
Attention from boys always a good thing no matter the circumstance😂 Tootsie
Thanks for sharing your teen years. So familiar!
Such fun! Love every entry!! What fun memories you get to enjoy. Never heard of that movie. Bet it’s streamable on some platform. Love, Amanda
So cool that you were a hippie as a kid and now!! Good memories!
I forgot to say something about the movie - GP rating! Not many rated G anymore, even a lot of animated now are PG. Love that you had fun
