Dear Diary:
Becky has a bad case of the measles! David, Missy & I have to get our hemoglobin tomorrow. Uh! I got a 50 on the math test. I stayed for Glee club. I asked Kim if he told the teacher & he said yes & I broke his heart. Glee Club not to boring just alright I guess. All our parts are alto! Uh! I came home by bus. The Stephens girl was in an accident & might have broken her back. I talked to Missy. Went to Simmons. Watched T.V. On Sunday, the Stephens girl (I don’t really know her was in a bad accident might be crippled.
BYE!
Note: Kim talked to the tennis teacher about me. He was behind me in school by a couple of years and that is probably why I wasn’t interested. As we get older a few years of age difference is not a big deal but it is when you are younger.
Missy was fit to be tied as she was always terrified of shots (she still is!).
The Stephens were friends of my mom when we lived in Colombia. They had moved back to Connecticut. Pat Stephens remained friends with my mom until she died. Their daughter did recover from the accident.
I sang alto and 2nd soprano in Glee Club but preferred 2nd soprano.

Dear Diary:
School. Missy & I asked everybody about the gamogoblen shot. You get it in your rear. No test today. Chiu & I in P.E. had fun. You have to have pairs so were doing it together. It’s funny. I was going to stay for cheerleading but canceled. Missy & her mom picked us (David & I) up. We went to to Dr. Baes. Well quess what!! I didn’t have to get the shot because I already had the measles. Twice!! Poor David they opened the door while he was getting it. We went to the Interconitnetal for a hot dog. Saw Diana. Watched TV. Studied. Becky still sick.
Note: Chiu Chuang was a classmate from Taiwan.
I lucked out not having to get the shot, but David and Missy were not so lucky. Missy was not a happy camper. David was very gallant volunteering to go first and unfortunately mooned the whole waiting area when the nurse opened the door. Missy and I couldn’t stop laughing. This helped her build her resolve to get the shot. She made sure the door stayed closed.

Dear Diary:
History test. I wrote to much information. We had a Spanish test in which she told us Mon. & of course noone remembered. I didn’t even study for it. We got our report cards. I got a B- in History, Science B-, Spanish 90 A- English B, Math incomplete, typing C, P.E. C, Glee Club A. Well not as bad as I expected. I went with David to play tennis. Oscar (don't like him to much) told me all these things that Kim told him. Kim really likes me. I went downtown with Missy to dentist & to get her glasses. Jones were here. Watched T.V. Movie “Father Goose,” Good
BYE!
Note: Mr. Jones worked with my dad, and he and his wife often came by our house. She always made snide remarks about my looks or weight; an example: “Estas mås gordita” (you're looking a bit fatter). She was short and chunky. Looking back, I was tall and skinny but had been pudgy before I had a growth spurt. I let her make me feel self-conscious about my weight.
The movie “Father Goose” was a romantic comedy set during World War II in the Pacific. It was one of my favorites and was dubbed in Spanish.

Oh how I rejoiced with young Susie at that grade card! Woohoo! And poor David. What a hoot!😂
Too funny for words!! Missy never told me that story... Sounds as though David handled it well at the time and in his comment yesterday👍 Tootsie
Enjoyable read as always!
Yes, the younger guys where their age seemed way too young. It would mean nothing in ten years.
Thanks for reminding me of Father Goose. Rings a bell!
Have a great weekend!

I do remember the mooning event! Too funny!
