Dear Diary:
We went to the Imaculada church. The priest kept talking straight to mom. We went to the country club for lunch. When we got home I took a leisure shower, washed my hair, shaved, painted my purple nails over with a conting of white looks divine. I watched T.V. I read on comics. Davids trading them with other kids here. I studied a bit. Read on “Tales from a Troubled Land.”
BYE!!!
Note: I am not sure why the priest was talking straight to my mom but she was very pretty.😊
My favorite comic book was Archie. Most times when Dad would travel to the U.S. he would bring us back a couple of them. My favorite characters were Betty and Archie.

Dear Diary:
In school we saw a real gruesome movie on drugs missed Spanish & Science my most dreaded classes. Were not going to the Doctor till mañana. Uh!!! I studied for English test tomorrow. I got a A- on composition & Dr. Bisbee gave me a big wink Uh! Missy & I had a walk went to Simmons for awhile. I watched T.V. Our T.V. in Dads room blue out sob! I had the pleasure of meeting Frank X. He’s not at all as I suspected. He’s ugly, fat. Oh well I’m no Cleopatra myself. Have to study for English & I want to eat & get to bed soon.
BYE!!!
Note: I love how I said blue up instead of blew up. It was a small black and white 13-inch T.V. I remember watching the 1969 moon landing on it.

Dear Diary:
Had math test got a 73 & had English test. I had my tennis lesson & had real fun. I’m learning to play real games. I lost each game the profe (Ricardo) one nine but still fun. I went to the skin Doctor with Mom & I asked him to give me something for my complexion. He said mine was awful. Soon as we got back I took a bath & Mom, Becky & I went to Dr. Valdidia. He didn’t check us only mom, just talked to us. Stewarts were over with her (Mrs.) mother. I did history report. Hope I get a good grade!
Note: I loved playing tennis but never got very good at it. I did have a mean backhand being lefthanded!
I mentioned before that I suffered severe acne as a teen but I attribute my healing to Doña Mercedes, our talented seamstress who taught me to steam my face with manzanilla (chamomile) tea. It helped heal my face and I am very grateful to her.

Who was Frank X.? Inquiring minds want to know.
Whenever I need a chuckle and smile, all I have to do is read your blogs.😊so enjoyable. Love your teen frankness and fun comments.
The Nejapa Country Club surely looks small - and the kids' pools so close to the regular pool... lots of fun memories there!
Susie you were ahead of your time with "purple" nails with a coating of white - divine I am sure!
Tootsie
I’m no Cleopatra either… 😂
Love your train of thinking…
