Dear Diary:
Boy the weeken goes by fast! We went to 11:30 mass. I stayed up late last night trying to get all the Barbie things together. Today in the afternoon I divided it all up. What was mine & whats Becky’s to give to my kids when or if I have any. We went out to lunch. Country Club. We went to Super too. In afternoon I worked with Barbie stuff. I watch T.V. Mom and Dad went to Boltons & then Coverstones. Uh! Im tired. Pray I finish English Book & Spanish to be able to do reports in time. Washed my hair.

Note: Fresh from seeing the Barbie movie, my brother on his recent visit asked to see my collection. I brought it up from the basement and to our amazement they were in decent condition. What fun!

Note: Arturo Cuadra was a friend of my parents.
The American Nicaraguan School, ANS, ran from 7:30 to 12:30 p.m. We came home for lunch unless we stayed for clubs. We went in the mornings as it was too hot in the afternoons. Elementary was kindergarten - 6th grade and was all at ground level. The high school was a multilevel building and was 7th-12th grades.

Dear Diary:
We played kickball in P.E. Had History test didn't do so good. I hope I passed. I had my tennis lesson, Becky didn’t have a lesson (spraind finger) I’m really improving. I got my contact!!! I put them on I don’t think I’ll wear them to school to much dust. I did my homework. Mr.Dagle or something similar came with Mr. Trost helped me with my math homework. I watched T.V.
BYE!!!
Note: Kickball in P.E. was stressful, as I was terrified of getting hit by the ball. Excited to get my contacts. They were hard lenses and took a long time to adjust, but I was determined. Vanity for sure.

Wow, I didn't know it got so hot in Managua. We were spoiled rotten in San Jose at the 3,800 foot elevation. We did have rainy & dry seasons, which meant toting the big black umbrellas at times. Of course there was the ash (ceniza) fallout for a year or 2, but that's another story.
Love your Barbie twin! It’s so awesome you still have your Barbie collection. Guess your kids weren’t all that into Barbie. Lol!
Fabulous stories from your diary. Loved your Barbie collection. Do you still have it?
