Dear Diary:
School was quite alright. We went to the library 1st period. I took the Math make-up test. I stayed for Glee Club. I was in the a pretty depressed & bored mood this afternoon. I had the feeling I going to be an old maid. Oh well. I talked to Missy. I watched T.V. Read newspapers.
BYE!!!!
Note: I always loved going to the library and still do. Whenever I moved to a new location, finding the library was a high priority. This is how I first met Kay, my sister from different mother.
I am also grateful that my parents encourage my love of reading. You are never lonely if you have a good book to read.

Dear Diary:
School. We had P.E. She was alright this time I guess you could say. I had homework in every subject but English. I did my homework. Outlined Science for test tomorrow. I watched T.V. I studied & did workbook. I have 2 test Spanish & Science. I studied to 10:30. Read newspapers.
BYE!!!
Note: I loved reading the Miami Heralds that were delivered weekly, especially the Sunday comics.

Dear Diary:
No Drama for rest of the year. We’ll continue the play next year. I flunked Spanish & Science. I washed my filthy hair. Becky & David had a tennis lesson. I stayed home & read papers. I watched T.V. Becky went to Currin’s to spend night & I went to Coverstones. I talked a lot with Missy discussed our problems & watched T.V.
BYE!!!!
Note: I wrote that I flunked Spanish & Science but grades wouldn’t be out until the next week. I always assumed I failed, possibly as a coping mechanism. If I failed it wouldn’t be so bad. If I passed - well, I would be thrilled.
I wonder if Missy and I discussed my fear of being an old maid.
Good news - you aren't an Old Maid! I love the concept of never being lonely as long as you have a book to read- so true. I have always enjoyed reading, but my mind wanders a lot now and it takes me longer to finish a book. Maybe we could do a book exchange sometime when I come to TN.
Bessie Graft looks so young and when I knew her in the 1960's she looked so old to me! Glad I was not the only one worried about being an Old Maid... Love the ANS drawing . Tootsie
where did that ANS drawing come from?
