Dear Flowers:
Sleeped in to about 9:15. Read on “Prelude to Love”. I tried on my clown outfit. I read some more & took a bath. After lunch I cut up some newspapers to make confeti (Dave & Beck did most). I finished Prelude to Love”. It was suberb. Outlined History abit. Dad’s back. Well I think we will be here in Nic. longer. YEAH! Played the piano.
BYE!!
Note: I was going to be a clown for the drama play. The confetti was for the play too. I am grateful to Dave and Beck for their help.
It was often a relief to know that my Dad wasn’t being transferred to another country. I was happy to stay in Nicaragua.

Dear Flowers:
Dave went on a 10 mile hike from 5:00 to 9:00. We attended church and then went to Old Super. I got my things ready for Drama. I worked on an outline for History and ate lunch. I outlined all afternoon and played the piano for a bit. I learned the left-hand notes. We saw slides today. Wish me luck on my Spanish test tomorrow, and pray we don’t have it.
BYE!!
Note: Dad would often set up his slide projector and screen on Sunday nights, and we would look at his slides from trips or ours when we were little. Viewing slides was like watching a film projection, but only a single picture at a time. It was fun to relive the memories. Writing this blog and finding photos reminds me of those times.
I liked playing the piano, but I didn’t like our piano teacher, so unfortunately, I didn’t stay with it. David kept up with the piano and is still an excellent player. My son Trevor has taught himself to play and also enjoys it.

Dear Flowers:
I got a 94 on English & pretty sure I flunked the Spanish test. Was hard!!! YEAKS!!! We had assembly & got to see a movie. It was “VIsion of USA.” It was real good. We had dress rehearsal for Drama today. It was hilarious. Watched T.V. Read new Journal. Lost my science notebook. Hope I find it. Pray Mom gets the package from Grandma. Mom & Dad Mr. Pataky
BYE!!!
Mom and Dad went out to dinner with Mr. Pataky.
Mom was expecting a package from her mom. Mail often came by boat, which could take months, and then didn’t always arrive.

Love the clown outfits ! Yours reminds me of Risky Business movie 😀 We had slides too - trips out West, camping. I have from my time in Guatemala as an exchange student. I used them whenever I did a presentation in the States. So thankful my parents let me take that camera . I do nothing but smile when I think of those slides. Apparently my mom still has a lot and wants to go through them with me the next time I visit her😊
Aria is adorable - hope you get to see her often!
I think Missy would mention the name Pataky, however, he was not there in my days at ANS. We had Mrs Dorothy Riobuka (sp?) to teach us piano and her husband Basil to teach us voice... neither of them was impressed with me😂
Although I do not always write a note, I do read "pescadita98" each Friday - congratulations on numero 100! Tootsie
I remember the name Pataky, but not in which capacity. I agree that David did indeed begin his lifetime dedication to his wellness.
Y'all were uptown with your carousel style magazines! I've still got dad's AirEquipt 125 "Universal" (straight-thru) magazine slide projector. Fortunately most of the slides have been converted to digital format.
In C.R. the folks bought a small upright treadle-pump organ and hired a local teacher to give us lessons. Regrettably, he always showed up rather tipsy, and the lessons were mostly him just playing his favourite songs. It wasn't pleasant sharing the bench with the old rum-breath gentleman, so the lessons were discontinued, and we showed no interest in trying a new teacher. The school we attended wasn't big enough to have an actual music dept. so becoming a famous musician wasn't in our future.
Felicidades on 100 blog entries!…
Huge congrats on both the 100th “episode” and beautiful Aria!! We had a screen and slides too! I remember the intrigue when we’d get them out and look back at Lesa n John when much younger! Love, Amanda S
